Daisy Fuentes began studying communications and journalism at Bergen Community College, during which time she was selected as "weather girl" on WXTV Channel 41, Univision's New York affiliate. She quickly moved up the ranks and became news anchor and reporter for the evening news, all while continuing to attend college for journalism.
It wasn't long until the Latino audience took a liking to the beautiful talented 19-year-old reporter, and soon did a large network: MTV. She had previously sent a demo tape and a letter to MTV and got the response that she had hoped for. Daisy soon retired from her news reports and traded it in for music reports, as the host of MTV International, which soon became MTV Latino. During this time hosting and VJ-ing on MTV, Daisy had begun to develop her acting credits with a role on the ABC soap opera, Loving.
Daisy soon followed her stint on the Loving with guest appearances on shows such as Cybill, The Larry Sanders Show and Dream On. From 1994 until 1995, Daisy Fuentes hosted her own talk show on CNBC called, shockingly, Daisy. She became one of the network's Talk All-Stars. Daisey shared the spotlight with such famed speakers as Phil Donahue, Geraldo Rivera, and Dick Cavett as host of her talk show.
Another of her claims to fame was as host of ABC's America's Funniest Home Videos, for 2 seasons. She also hosted The Alma Awards in 1997 and 1998; Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve '98; The 1998 World Music Awards; the 1999 Billboard Latin Awards; as well as hosting the Miss Teen USA, Miss USA, and Miss Universe pageants.
Daisy Fuentes Fuentes maintains a spot among the supermodel ranks of Cindy Crawford, Halle Berry and Claudia Schiffer with a worldwide, multi-year contract to represent Revlon's classic cosmetic, fragrance and beauty treatment lines. She has also appeared in ad campaigns for American Express, Miller Lite, Pantene, and M&M's. Daisy can also be seen in 1996 and 1997 16-month calendar layout for Landmark Calendars, and working out in her own personal exercise video from Warner Vision. Daisy has appeared on a wide range photo shoots for magazines covers such as; Spanish Cosmopolitan, Harper's Bazaar, as well as Fitness, Shape, Latina, FHM, and Stuff (almost completely nude). Daisy is incredibly photogenic, as any pic of her can attest. However, you won't be seeing any naked pictures of her anytime soon. She is strongly against any nude/topless photos.
This multi-talented model and actress appeared in the Miramax film “CURDLED”.
As for Daisy's love life, she dated Luis Miguel from 1995 until they broke up in 2000. As for the rumor floating around that she would come out with her own clothing line, there hasn't been any concrete plans, however she is very much into stylish clothes.
Daisy's blossoming career accomplishments are largely due to her charm, intellect, humor, and beauty, which are reasons for which Daisy and her career will only continue to grow.
