| Diaryscape Biography of Dale bozzio girls:
Dale Bozzio was one of the most visually striking performers of the new wave era. The Missing Persons' frontwoman became well recognized for her model-esque looks, her facinating fashion sense (or lack thereof), and her multi-colored hair. Dale Bozzio was a leading factor in the Missing Persons' early '80s success. Dale was born on March 2, 1955 (location unknown), and began modeling in during the '70s. Some of her numerous modeling shots included a revealing mostly nude photo layout in Hustler Magazine, prior to her being introduced to Frank Zappa. It didn't take long before Zappa invited Dale to sing on his epic concept album, Joe's Garage: Acts 1-3. During this time, Dale and a few members of Zappa's band (guitarist Warren Cuccurullo and drummer Terry Bozzio, the latter of which Dale would soon wed) decided to unite together to create a new wave act. Together they formed the band Missing Persons shortly after the dawn of the '80s. Their look and sound reflected the en vogue space age new wave of the time (Gary Numan, Devo, etc.). The band seemed born for MTV with their large emphasis on their image, as the group enjoyed a huge hit right off the bat, with the gold-certified debut album, "Spring Session M", and its hit videos/singles, "Words" and "Destination Unknown." Unfortunately, despite their initial hits, Missing Persons was not able to duplicate their commercial success on such subsequent releases as 1984's "Rhyme & Reason" and 1986's "Color in Your Life" - which led to the group's split (plus Dale and Terry's divorce). It was also during this time that Dale lent her vocals to another Zappa concept album, "Thing Fish". Shortly after the Missing Persons' break up, Dale was signed by Prince to his Paisley Park label as a solo artist, resulting in the release of "Riot in English" in 1988. Like her former band's last couple of albums, Dale Bozzio's solo debut didn't do well commercially and she abandoned her solo career. Dale Bozzio resurfaced in November of 1991 as a featured performer at a Frank Zappa tribute held at New York's Ritz. She was also included on the subsequent live album/homevideo of the event, "Zappa's Universe". During the late '90s, the singer was touring once again, leading a new version of the Missing Persons (with Dale being the only original member in the band). Dale was featured in a segment of VH1's "Where Are They Now?" series. By 2001, the original members of Missing Persons had settled their differences, and reformed for a series of U.S. reunion shows. Dale's influence can be easily detected in the vocal stylings of several modern day rock singers, including No Doubt's Gwen Stefani. To this day you can still find her many photos and pics on the net. (End of diaryscape Dale bozzio girls Biography) - 466
